SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE

As an American dance reality show and competition ‘So you think you can dance’ is gaining a lot of national and international attention. With a similar premise to the American Idol series, So you think you can dance,’ has already "Awards" won three Emmy Awards for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography" Outstanding Choreography. The show was created by Idol’s Simon Fuller and first premiered in 2005. Since then, it has never really looked back. The show includes numerous contestants that range from unknown street dancers to winners of national dance championships. In order to quality, contestants must work their way through gruelling auditions that are held in major cities across the US. It includes; salsa, ballroom, hip hop, street dancing, contemporary, jazz and ballet. In addition to the fame and publicity that one can get from appearing on the show, contestants also compete for the show’s grand prize, which in previous years has included; $100,000 in cash and a new Hybrid SUV. For those who have been following the show, fans of Actress Katie Holmes, would have seen her grace the stage on the 100th episode of ‘ So you think you can dance’ on July 23rd. Dancing in tribute to Judy Garland and choreographed by Tyce Diorio, Katie donated her entire appearance fee to a charity Dizzy Feet that provides scholarship opportunities for underprivileged dancers. For avid fans of ‘So you think you can dance,’ season six premiers on September 9th.
